Head of Office

Since November 2020, the head of AICS office in Cairo has been Dr. Martino Melli. In 2016, he started working for the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, where he held the following positions: Member of the Evaluation Team, Member of the Environmental Team, Head of the Multi Stakeholder Platform for Sustainable Energy.

In addition to implementing initiatives under direct management with the support of several program management units created ad-hoc, AICS Cairo also relies on a very extensive network of local, international and civil society partners for the implementation of initiatives funded by the Italian Cooperation.

Profile and Objectives

The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – AICS in Cairo, began in 2016 to operate as the platform of the Italian Cooperation, which has already approximately forty years of activity in Egypt, promoting since 1982 projects that help foster sustainable socio-economic development in the country
