Head of Office

On April 26, 2025, Dr. Tiberio Chiari officially assumed his position as Head of the AICS Office in Cairo. Within AICS, he was a member of the Verification Team for five years, for the ex-ante evaluation of bilateral and multilateral development initiatives submitted for financing by the Italian Cooperation.

In addition to implementing initiatives under direct management with the support of several program management units created ad-hoc, AICS Cairo also relies on a very extensive network of local, international and civil society partners for the implementation of initiatives funded by the Italian Cooperation.

Profile and Objectives

The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – AICS in Cairo, began in 2016 to operate as the platform of the Italian Cooperation, which has already approximately forty years of activity in Egypt, promoting since 1982 projects that help foster sustainable socio-economic development in the country
